Book Cover Art for Ben Tanzer
I have to say, I'm very excited to be a part of a book cover project I've been working on for the past few months with Ben Tanzer and Jason Behrends, who interviewed me last Summer on What to wear during an Orange Alert.com
You can check out the progression of the book here Orange Alert Press
When I was first approached about the project, I was more than willing to help these guys. In regard to literature, art and music, they certainly have their act together. It just seems like we have similar interests and tastes, and I've never even met them in real life (I'm in New York- they're in the Chicago area).
It's a relationship forged by the internet, which is a perfect example of it's endless capabilities to connect people. Jason's Orange Alert site is a pleasure to read and always interesting ( it was named this past Feb. 08' in Chicagomag.com as one of the top Art & Culture websites), and Ben's writing is superb. After reading many passages from his book, I connected with it from the very beginning. I love the dialogue between the characters. Sometimes all you need is a few distinct lines or sentences to get your imagination rolling. And the title: "Most likely you go your way and I'll go mine" is compelling to me. It has a kind of "punch" to it that most titles do not. I think it's a feeling or mood we can all relate to on a personal or emotional level. It stays with you. The title automatically makes me curious about the contents, and seeing the figures in the foreground juxtaposed against the NYC skyline makes me want to go inside the book. I think readers will feel the same way.
